A big train crash happened in Buxar district in Bihar. Many carriages of the North-East Superfast train went off the tracks, and about 100 people were injured. The accident occurred close to Raghunathpur train station on Wednesday evening. Out of the coaches that turned over, about two to three of them were air-conditioned compartments, and they came off the tracks. The hospitals in Ara, Buxar, and Patna, including well-known institutions like PMCH, AIIMS, and IGIMS, are ready to help the injured passengers in case of an emergency.
The train that was impacted was called the North East Express. It was on its way from Anand Vihar Terminal to Kamakhya which is near Guwahati in Assam. The train accident affected both the tracks going up and down, causing several passenger and goods trains to be redirected. Train workers quickly came to the site to find out why the train went off track and to try to put the train cars back on the tracks. This task may take a while because it is difficult to remove the obstacles.
The train accident caused big damage to the structures, like pillars, electrical poles, signal posts, and the train tracks. Trains on the main line between New Delhi and Howrah were running late, which caused delays in places like Patna, Jhajha, Kiul, Jasidih, and Pataliputra along the Deen Dayal Upadhyay-Howrah route.
People are working to fix the railway and get the trains running again. A group of people will investigate why the train went off the track.
