Kuwait’s 86-year-old leader, Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, died on Saturday, according to state media. He went to the hospital last month because he had a sudden health problem.
Before Sheikh Nawaf became the leader in September 2020, he was known to have poor health and often went to other countries for medical treatment. Even though he died, Kuwait’s plan for selling oil probably won’t change much. Kuwait is one of the world’s big sellers of crude oil and is an important part of a group called OPEC. The country usually supports the leader of OPEC, which is Saudi Arabia.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said he is very sad to hear that His Highness Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah has died. We are very sorry for the loss of the ruler of Kuwait. According to the rules, the new ruler will be the late ruler’s half-brother, Crown Prince Sheikh Mishaal Al-Ahmed Al-Sabah, who has already been in charge of most of the country’s daily activities.
