Rescuers Alter Approach in Response to India Tunnel Collapse

Rescuers trying to free many workers stuck in a tunnel in Uttarakhand for almost 150 hours have had a problem with the drilling machine, which has made it difficult to continue with the rescue.

The drilling stopped because officials heard a sudden “cracking sound,” but they will start again soon with a new heavy drill. 41 workers have been trapped when part of the tunnel fell on Sunday morning. Officials say workers are safe and getting supplies through pipes, but families there are losing hope. Doctors stress the need to act quickly to help workers with their physical and mental health.

They are worried about the workers’ well-being and want to make sure they get the help they need as soon as possible. The tunnel collapsed on November 12 while it was being built, and the drilling work has been affected by things dropping from above. The Air Force is sending a second drilling machine to help with the rescue mission.

Rescue workers in Uttarakhand are trying to save about 41 trapped workers in a tunnel. But their drilling machine broke, so they had to stop for a little while. The officials stopped what they were doing when they heard a loud cracking sound from the equipment. Despite the problem, another big drill has been taken to the place where the accident happened, and work should start again soon.

The workers are trapped in the Silkyara Tunnel because part of it collapsed on Sunday. Officials are giving them food and making sure they are safe, but their families are getting more and more worried.

Worries about the trapped workers’ health are increasing. Doctors are saying the workers need to be rescued quickly and have thorough rehabilitation. Being stuck at home for a long time can make people worried about their mental and physical health. The accident happened on November 12. It made it harder for rescuers to help because the falling debris was getting in the way of drilling a path for the workers to escape.

The Air Force sent another drilling machine from Indore using a military plane to help with the rescue work that is still going on. Families and doctors are worried and want the rescue mission to be solved quickly.
