Russian leader Vladimir Putin praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his strong dedication to India’s national interests. At the 14th VTB Investment Forum Russia Calling, Putin praised Modi for standing up for India’s interests and said that Modi cannot be forced to make decisions that would harm India.
Putin said that Russia and India are very good friends and their friendship is getting stronger in many different areas. He said that PM Modi’s policy is the main reason for the strong connection between the two countries.

Talking about the possibility of increasing trade between the two countries, Putin said he is hopeful about the trade getting bigger. He mentioned that there has been a big increase in trade in the first six months of the year. He recognized that India received benefits, especially in energy resources, and praised Modi’s smart plan.
Putin talked about how strong India’s economy is, ranking third in the world in terms of buying power and economic size. He said we should do more business with India. He said that India should trade more with countries like China, the United States, Japan, and Russia because it can help India’s economy grow.
