A very sad event happened in Lewiston (second most populous city in the U.S state), Maine, and it caused at least 22 people to die and almost 60 people to get hurt. The person believed to have committed this mass shooting was identified as a gun teacher in the US Army Reserve. The first round of shots happened a little before 7 pm in the evening.
The Sheriff’s Office in Androscoggin County shared pictures of the suspect carrying a gun on Facebook and said that he is currently on the loose. The hospital in Lewiston, Central Maine Medical Center, announced how they would handle a situation where many people are hurt or killed by a person with a gun. They worked together with hospitals nearby to make room for the large number of patients coming in.
Emergency workers were sent to different places where the shootings took place. These places include a bowling alley, a restaurant, and a Walmart distribution center.
