Justin Trudeau, who is the leader of Canada, sent kind greetings to the Hindu community to celebrate Navratri. In a message on his official social media, Trudeau said, “Happy Navratri. I’m sending my best wishes to Hindus and everyone celebrating this festival. “
He continued to talk about the importance of Navratri in the Hindu religion, emphasizing how it celebrates the goddess Durga’s win against the demon Mahishasura, who had a buffalo head. It also represents the victory of good over evil. Trudeau said that Navratri is a festival that celebrates feminine energy. During this festival, friends and family come together to honor old traditions. They do this by praying, enjoying performances, sharing special meals, and watching fireworks.
The Canadian Prime Minister said in a press statement that the festival is important for learning about different cultures and appreciating the contributions of Hindu communities to Canada. It’s worth mentioning that Prime Minister Trudeau’s nice greetings come at a time when there was a recent argument. He had suggested before that Indian agents were linked to the murder of the Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar. India strongly disagrees with these claims, considering them to be ridiculous and driven by ulterior motives. The Indian Ministry of External Affairs clarified that they have observed and dismissed the statement made by the Canadian Prime Minister in their Parliament, as well as the statement made by their Foreign Minister. The claim that the Government of India was involved in any violent acts in Canada is ridiculous and has ulterior motives. We are a democratic country that strongly believes in following the law.
