Delhi’s Mehrauli Archaeological Park has old buildings and a new cafe for history fans to visit and enjoy. The Garden Cafe is located in a round old building made of stone. It is part of the big Mehrauli Archaeological Park, which has over 50 old buildings near the famous Qutub Minar. It is a self-service cafe. The main cafeteria lounge is in a building called the “Unknown Circular Monument,” as said on a nearby stone.
This round building and other old structures in the park, along with the historic lake, were not taken care of before. But in the last six to seven months, they have been fixed up and improved as part of a project to restore and develop them. The project, introduced by Lt Governor V K Saxena, was meant to fix up the site. The place was in bad shape with drawings on some statues and the water was full of dirt and trash. The café is open from 10 am to 7 pm and has a nice view of the Qutub Minar and pretty fountains.
