Microsoft Outage LIVE Updates Company Announces ‘Resolution is Coming’

Microsoft Outage LIVE Updates Global Airlines Report Major Disruptions.

Microsoft reported on Thursday that it is investigating issues with its cloud services in the Central US region, which has caused widespread disruptions worldwide. Major airlines across the globe have been adversely affected by the outage. Underlying cause for outage of 365 apps, fixed, says Microsoft that the outage of its 365 apps and services has been fixed but residual impact of cybersecurity outages are continuing to affect some customers.


In India, Akasa Airlines announced that some of its online services will be temporarily unavailable at Mumbai and Delhi airports. SpiceJet also reported facing technical issues that are impacting flight updates. Similarly, Indigo Airlines stated that its systems are currently affected, which may impact booking, check-in, and access to boarding passes.

In the US, Frontier Airlines, a unit of Frontier Group Holdings Inc., grounded flights for over two hours due to problems with Microsoft’s services. Discount carrier Allegiant Air, which operates around 130 aircraft, also experienced disruptions affecting reservations and bookings.

The outage has also impacted airlines, telecommunications providers, banks, and media broadcasters in Australia and New Zealand, with some banks in New Zealand reporting they were offline.

Cause Identified and Fixed, but Residual Impact Continues

The update to the CrowdStrike sensor, a crucial endpoint protection tool, conflicted with changes introduced in the latest Windows update. Ritesh emphasized the need for thorough compatibility testing between security solutions and operating system updates to prevent such disruptions. He also suggested measures to avoid similar issues in the future.
