Elon Musk’s artificial intelligence company, xAI, will unveil its first AI model to a small group on November 4, according to Reuters. This new thing created by Musk happened almost a year after OpenAI’s ChatGPT became very popular among businesses and people all over the world. It helped more people start using generative AI technology.
In 2015, Musk helped start OpenAI, the group in charge of ChatGPT, but he left the board of the company in 2018. Musk said, “xAI’s new model is the best in some important ways right now. “
In early 2023, Musk, who had been opposed to the AI efforts and control of Big Tech, said he wanted to create an AI that searches for the most accurate information to learn about the universe. He wants his AI to be as good as Google’s Bard and Microsoft’s Bing AI.
The xAI team has experts who used to work at DeepMind– a part of Google, Microsoft’s parent company, and other top AI research companies.
It’s important to remember that X and xAI are different things, but they work together. xAI, which started in July this year, works together with Tesla and some other companies.
In September, Larry Ellison, who helped start Oracle and is a good friend of Musk, said that xAI agreed to use Oracle’s cloud system to teach its AI model.
Elon Musk and British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak were said to meet on December 31 to talk about the dangers of artificial intelligence. This chat was planned to happen on Musk’s platform X (previously known as Twitter) after the AI Safety Summit that happened on November 1 and 2. According to Reuters, the goal of the summit was to understand the dangers of AI and create agreement among different countries to ensure its safe progress.
