The removal was justified by the UP Health Minister, Brajesh Pathak, citing the doctor’s lack of accurate information and careless statement on heatwave-related deaths.
The opposition, led by Samajwadi Party Chief Akhilesh Yadav, has criticized the state government for the fatalities. Yadav held the government accountable for not issuing a warning about the heatwave and lamented the absence of any new district hospitals in the past six years. He argued that the victims, primarily poor farmers, perished due to delayed access to food, medication, and timely treatment.
Brajesh Pathak, the UP Health Minister, assured that the government is treating the incident in Ballia with utmost seriousness, personally overseeing the situation.
